Outdoor Senior Portrait | New York

I first meet Brooke a few years ago when I took her sister Paige’s senior portraits. She is a beautiful girl with the bluest eyes and best smile. We had so much fun shooting and I think laughed as much as I worked. We took most of the pictures around her neighborhood and thank goodness one neighbor wasn’t home, so we could take advantage of their red fence and garden. There is also a gorge near her home that had a great field of wild flowers and we caught it at just the right time for lighting. I’m so glad I was able travel to New york this summer. Brooke is graduating this spring and plans to attend Daemen College in Amherst, New York in the Fall. Her career goal is to become a Physician’s Assistant.

Outdoor Family Portrait | Machias, New York

Every time I visit New York, I always make time to see my cousin Jordan and his family. I shot Michelle and Jordan’s engagement photos four years ago on her parent’s home in Machias. It is a gorgeous 200 acres woodland property that is a photographer’s dream. I didn’t have my blog then, but I promise to do a through back post one day. Now, they are a family of four with two beautiful girls – Joey and Emma Kate. For their mini session, we shot down a wild flower and tree-lined trail. I love that every year I’ve been able capture this sweet family.

Evangola State Park | Irving, New York

I knew I was coming up to Buffalo again this summer and was over the moon when I learned that one of my wedding couples, Ashley and Jake were expecting! So, you can imagine how happy I was when I spoke to Ashley and she was just as excited to learn I would be available to shoot their maternity session. Since the last time I saw them they moved into their new home. This little red house was so sweet and the perfect place to start shooting. I loved the white fencing and lattice archway. You’ll all have to help convince Jake to not tear it down with the house renovations. It’s a picturesque backyard and I think will be the perfect spot for “Baby B’s” one year pictures.

We then hopped in the car and drove to the shore of Evangola State Park. This beautiful arc-shaped shoreline is a 733-acre state park in southern Erie County, New York. We stayed until there was no light left in the sky. I had such a great time catching up with this amazing couple and can’t wait to meet their little girl in October.

Newborn Girl PortraitPINIMAGE

Riverside | Jacksonville, Florida

A few years back while working at an ad agency, I meet one of closest friends, Sharon. When she contacted me about shooting her newborn girl portraits, I wanted something new. I found this soft pink blanket at Target and used ribbon with a paper flower to finish the look. Sharon and James welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Chloe Rose on July 23rd. She was born at Baptist Health downtown at 12:17 am, weighing 8.1 lbs and 20 inches long. I arrived at their home in Riverside about two weeks after and found everyone happy and healthy. I was instantly in love with Chloe’s cheeks and full head of dark hair. Just like her mommy. I am so happy for this growing family and this pink and rose inspired shoot was as sweet as her name.

San Marco | Jacksonville, Florida

Like many of my wedding couples, Emily and Blake have become dear friends and I was honored to be part of capturing their growing family. Finn was born on June 3 at 7 lbs 11 oz and 21.5″ tall. His nursery was painted with bright blues and green with space decor, books and words encouraging him to “dream big.” My favorite decoration was an original newspaper framed from the first man on the moon  – it is an heirloom that has been in Blake’s family. Finn is so lucky to have such wonderful parents and I know he will be a blessing in their lives.
